Little Beauties

The fruit lady sees me holding these little beauties and watches me jabbering to Elder K in English while I am wondering what in the world is in my hand. W3,000. Is it worth it? I don't know. But we are buying a watermelon because those are just scrumptious. She then grabs a basket full and puts it in the sack, all the while going on and on in Korean. Since most of you probably don't understand Korean, I will translate for you: Here, I can tell you really want these but you don't know what they are. Since you are buying a watermelon and you walk past here EVERYDAY, I will give you these little beauties for free! And maybe you will come back and buy some more fruit from me.
(See, my Korean really has improved. And, I still don't know what they are but I couldn't wait for them to get soft so I cut one open. It tastes like a nectarine. Well, a really hard nectarine.)
