Lazy Blogging

Kurt said I needed to update my blog. These are pictures taken while lounging on the couch watching the Elder K working. OK. Next time will be better.

She is Like a Star, Shining Brightly

All Olivia has to do is smile and it gives away everything that is inside her. She shines for the whole world to see! Thank you for sharing that light with me. Your creative ways inspire me, your kindness to others makes me want to make my light a little brighter. Thank you mostly for loving Ben and making him better because he married you! I love you. Have a happy birthday.

Seoul Feeding

If of thy mortal goods thou art bereft
And from they slender store two loaves alone to thee are left
Sell one, and with the dole,
Buy hyacinths to feed they soul.

These stocks were my pick--at $2.75 how could I resist?

Elder K is graciously helping some young adults with their wedding flowers. So off we went to the wholesale flower market. The prices and selection were unbelieveable! It feels like home again.

My Man

What a ride it has been with this man. Absolutely never a dull moment. I love that about him--I just never know what is around the corner. That is what attracted me to him in the first place. He was different from all the other self absorbed, egotistical, always acting way too cool teenage boys of my youth. He is never afraid to be himself or express himself in his very own, unique way. He always thinks out of the box, infact I don't think he even gets close to the box. Infact, what box?
So, I am enjoying our boxless life of wandering the world. And feel it the greatest blessing to be his companion in Korea but best of all I get to keep him as my companion forever! Happy Birthday, Tootsie!

Sisters on the Subway!

Sister Saunders always gets upset when Sister Marsden pulls a face, which Sister Saunders says is every picture. (Can you tell Sister Saunders is sad?)

So Elder Knudsen quietly took this photo while they weren't looking.

Sunday Night Scum!

Lyla and Yang Huok, Lyla's new boyfriend and Elder K.

Korean shuffling.

Lyla and Yang Huok

How we miss our Sunday night games together with the children! So we invited Lyla and Yang Huok over for dinner and rousing rounds of Scum. We told Lyla she was not allowed to date anyone without our approval! And we fell in love with Yang Huok. He is a kind and gentle man. She deserves the best! And he learned Scum well enough to reign as King for two rounds!

Korean Cowboys!

OK. This first photo has Elder Jung at the very back in the middle sneaking into the photograph. He was excited he got in the picture.

Without Elder Jung

One of the members daughter--so cute!

This is the Hwagok Relief Society getting ready to celebrate the RS birthday by doing a line dance! They practice after our English class on Tuesday nights.

Birthday Boy Brian!

Ashley is a very gentle spirit and I knew she needed to find someone with that same kind of spirit. Brian, you were worth the wait! Thank you for your love and gentleness as a husband and as a father. We are so grateful you are a part of us. On Friday one of the missionaries said, "Well, I know which one is your son," pointing to you! And we agree! We love you like a son. Thank you for your dedication to this gospel and your unwavering faith. I hope it is a very happy day for you!

A Day in The Life of a Korean Market

There is actually a restaurant in Seoul called PiggyPiggy.

Why did the chicken cross the road? She didn't.

We don't know exactly what she was frying but her expertise was amazing. She smashed, cut and rolled the dough, all with a big knife.

Medicinal teas

Kimchee however you would like it!
