I am thinking about Jordan's blog today. First, honesty, it must be the only way through life; not pretending we are better than we are but the harder part might be not pretending we are worse than we are. For finding what is real and honest requires the lens of the spirit or we end in pile of self deprecating ruble.
The burden of motherhood feels like holding up my home with my finger tips and not shaking the people I love inside. Yet God knows this. Because here He adds the great joy of motherhood, of teaching you to love someone more than you love yourself.
So it is not my home I need to hold up, but Him.
And then there is the subject of our bodies. We have very complex bodies because we can produce children (with the wonderfully kind help of our husbands), which we all know, is a miracle that none of us understand. It makes us so complicated, which often drives the men in our lives crazy, but usually crazy with love.
Yes, Jordan, surrender is the perfect word. Because when we use our senses we are surrendering to God. Think about the temple. Think carefully.
To dull or ignore the senses is to dull or ignore the spirit.

PS: Thank you, Jordan, for being so complicated.

This was beautiful, mom (and so are you). Love you.

Thank you. That's the thing about mothers, they love you no matter your simplicity or complication. Yes, hooray for the men we drive crazy.

What a beautiful response to Jordan's honesty. I especially liked this line, "The burden of motherhood feels like holding up my home with my finger tips and not shaking the people I love inside." That is the truth with a BIG T!
