One of the Best Parts of a Korean Summer!
I happened to catch a Buddhist monk wearing this incredible material. Specially treated to be stiff, it can be made of linen, ramie, hemp, cotton or silk. Evidently when washed it retains the stiffness. When the weather turned hot it appeared like magic on the older generation of Koreans. It must be cool and the stiffness helps keep the fabric off your body.
