Today at District Meeting we had a mini Folk Art lesson during lunch. "I don't get it," said Elder Matyskiel. "I just don't get it." There is a tiny treasure in Seoul called the Mokin Museum. It is full of wooden carvings reflecting the personality of the carver. Folk Art---art from untrained artists that is pure and honest. These works were not made to sell but to be buried with or by the dead. Two little museum rooms that take your breath away.
Elder Matyskiel was not convinced but we did make a little progress!

It was just the two of us in this small museum amongst generations of art.
It's all so neat!
That is very neat!
I love those masks and the big, round-headed wooden figures. You two are so good for those elders.
